It was hot. Proof: here is the temperature shown at one of those digital thermometers in town, at 10 PM:

 

The locals are experts in making pictures in the sand:

Freshly roasted and salted seeds and nuts are very popular, delicious and cheap: here watermelon seeds, almonds, chick peas, peanuts, ...

The gulf of Aqaba has *wonderful* corals. Not everyone appreciates that these animals prefer to be left alone in the sea, where they belong. Or perhaps people just prefer the money.

Shish pipes waiting for customers. The streets fill up around 11 PM, and families assemble on the the beach close to the city centre. Even small children still run around and play there close to midnight.

Who says men don't like shopping?
