In April 1997 Andreas' mother Titti resolved to give herself a big present: she decided to go on a trip that she has been thinking of a long time. The trip she had in mind was a roundtrip of Peru. But not only did she organise a trip for herself, she organised it also for all her children and their partners. This is one of the best gifts to the whole family that I have ever experienced.
Peru is a beautiful and amazingly varied country: it has high mountains, it has a jungle, it has deserts and lakes and a sea. It has many different climates and an incredible variety in its flora and fauna as a conseqence of these varied habitats. And, of course, there is the culural heritage: the Incas and other indian tribes and their stone castles and temples and intricate golden jewlery, colourful carpets, and magnificent pottery. And, to top it all, there is the coca tea. The trip was a complete sensory overload, and I loved every minute of it.
